Product Number: 1012000413 Series: Guitar Ensemble Pages: 2
Description: This traditional song is a favorite in my area. My students usually only know the introduction however, so it is really fun to pull the whole piece on them. This is an ensemble piece for late beginner to early intermediate guitarists. The fact that they really want to learn it usually means that anyone can eventually master it however.
Product Number: 1012004219 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This was a request by several of my students who wanted to be able to play the whole song and not just a "riff!" It is definitely an intermediate solo and there is no shorthand notation provided. This a Traditional Mexican Folksong that was later made popular by such notable artists as Ritchie Valens and Los Lobos. Enjoy.
Description: Mix and match three parts for Violin, Viola and Cello. No score, all parts with and without shorthand notation. My students had a lot of fun with this.
Description: This is another mix and match tune. These are for when you have players, but not necessarily the players you need. Just trade the parts around until they sound good. Maybe your Cello player is the best one to play the melody, or maybe you just need something to sightread. Any three instruments can play this, which is what I had in mind when I wrote it out. Sometimes I have some tiny groups, but they deserve some music to play as well.
Product Number: 1012004126 Series: Guitar Ensemble Pages: 6
Description: This is a second year guitar ensemble arrangement with chord accompaniment in the third part and an optional electric bass part. I included the shorthand notation because I have already written it out. I had a special needs student who was still relying on the shorthand notation, not because the student was "lazy" or stubborn, but because the student had frequent absences due to appointments. The student was able to keep up and even moved ahead some of the class so it was all worth it.
Product Number: 1012000385 Series: Guitar Ensemble Pages: 4
Description: This is an original composition that had it's premiere at Socorro High School while I was student teaching there. The Title means "The Splendid Fountain" and of course, there are many in El Paso. this is for the intermediate guitar ensemble, and can be slightly intimidating if it is not approached with understanding. There is a lot of syncopation and the inside parts are difficult to wrap your fingers around. One of my ensembles (and you know who you are) actually sightread this almost perfectly however!
Product Number: 1013000008 Series: Guitar Ensemble Pages: 2
Description: My 5th grade guitar ensemble and 4th grade recorders always play a few songs together at the end of the concert. This is one of the ones they chose this year. I modified this from on of the beginning recorder pages and gave it an introduction as well. This is published with and without shorthand notation. Enjoy.
Product Number: 1012004093 Series: Recorder Ensemble Pages: 2
Description: This is a song that my recorder ensembles keep asking to play in concert, so I finally gave in and wrote a two part sheet for them to use. It is written with and without shorthand notation. There is a shorthand notation sheet available on this site if you have trouble with it.
Product Number: 1012000394 Series: Guitar Ensemble Pages: 1
Description: If your ensemble has only been playing together for two to three months and you have a concert coming up, this makes an excellent second or third selection. Lots of talking points about chord construction and rhythm, but very low learning curve.
Product Number: 1012004157 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This is a grade 2 guitar solo, with and without shorthand notation. More important, this is a very pretty song.
Product Number: 1013000013 Series: Guitar Ensemble Pages: 2
Description: This is a beginning guitar ensemble arrangement that was made by request. Some of my students wanted to play this for our spring concert and weren't satisfied with the idea of playing the guitar solo arrangement all together. So, here it is. Enjoy.
Product Number: 1012004071 Series: Choir Reduction With Chords Pages: 4
Description: This is a popular spiritual with a double meaning. When slaves were taught religion, they paid much more attention to the Old Testament than their masters. There were lessons to be learned about the path to freedom, and parallels in the stories of the Jewish People and their flight from Egypt. It was thought that religion would make them more docile, but it was really a metaphor for their own struggle for equality!
Product Number: 1012004050 Series: Guitar Ensemble Pages: 2
Description: This song is a little spooky and fun. Shorthand notation is included of course.
