If you find any of these songs useful, please consider becoming a member of this site. I am happy and proud to be a member and it has been a great investment that has reaped huge dividends. I have gotten a lot more out of this site than I could ever hope to put in and I am genuinely grateful.
I am a semi-retired Folksinger, retired Army Bandsman, currently teaching Guitar Ensemble, String Ensembles, Concert Choir, and Recorder Ensemble, grades 3 - 8. Next time I retire though, I am going right back into folk singing. (It keeps me humble)
Songs are like children. They have to get out on their own and find their own identity. I started the process by writing them, but you complete the process by learning them, passing them down to young minds, and keeping them alive. I sincerely hope that one or two of my little songs will live on past the time when anyone will know I actually wrote them. It is the sweetest form of immortality I could possibly think of. You can find free MP3s of my folk songs on Soundclick.com
here.
Leave me a message if you drop by. I would love to know what you think of my primitive efforts. I will also be mentioning that my songs will be written down here, so don't get stuck in a loop. I have had to depend on people who are wiser than me in the ways of technology all of my life. It doesn't bother me, but I am grateful that they are so gracious as well as generous. If you need any of these in a different format, give me a shout and if I am not in the middle of concert season, I will be glad to consider your request.

>>>We Went over 70,000 downloads, so the next goal is to get to 100,000. (Maybe even by the end of the year? < hope, hope >) When I was first invited to this webpage, I never thought it was possible, but now I have to admit that I am genuinely hopeful.
>>>Three songs have gone over 1,000 downloads now. I can't wait to find material that is at least as useful. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.
>>>Finally got the Sol-Feg files uploaded. I would love to get feedback on these.
I would love to hear if something you found on this page convinced you to become a member. I don't get anything for it and I'm not looking for bragging rights. I would just like to know if this page is helping out Mike in any way. I don't want his generosity to me, to become a burden for this site. If something else was a deciding factor, be sure and let Mr. Daly know about that as well. If there is anything that any one of us can do to keep this online, I'm sure we can find a way to get it done. Oh, and if you actually read down this far, thank you bunches. My students are used to me but I may be a bit overwhelming to the general public.

Product Number: 1013000031 Series: Guitar Ensemble Pages: 4
Description: This is a gifted first year to late second year guitar ensemble piece. It is the same song we wrote on May8, 2009, but since these students are all first year guitar students I promised to make a guitar arrangement of this song as well. The trouble is, it is much much too hard for them to ever learn to play. They have promised to make a bald fced liar out of me however, so here it is. The first guitar part is in fifth and eighth position and all of the fingerings are marked on both sides for that part. The rest of the piece is published with and without shorthand notation (just to prove I'm not completely heartless!) Enjoy. It really is a lovely song and I am proud to be a small part of it.
Product Number: 1013000030 Series: Lead Sheet Pages: 1
Description: A group of students were crowded around the keyboard, making up new words to a karaoke feature built into the electronics. Some of the lyrics started making sense, so we wrote them down, added to them, discussed them, listened to the students singing what we came up with, and then I wrote it down on paper. This is what we came up with.
Product Number: 1012000389 Series: Guitar Ensemble Pages: 1
Description: I have to acknowledge the Celtic genius of the late Derek Bell (of the Chieftains) for the introduction to this piece. A pretty French carol with Celtic undertones. A lovely combination of serendipity and Epiphany.
Product Number: 1012000501 Series: Lead Sheet Pages: 1
Description: Nice little Gospel tune for your youth group or praise team. It has served me well over the years and it's about time it got out there on it's own. I would love to hear what you do with it.
Product Number: 1013000004 Series: String Ensemble Pages: 8
Description: This is a two part mix and match chart for beginning String Orchestra. It has a Violin, Viola, Cello, and String Bass part, but no score. I can make additional parts if you need them, just give me a shout. It was a lot of fun for my first year students just as it was, and everyone had a lot of fun sharing the melody part back and forth. This is written with and without shorthand notation.
Product Number: 1012004241 Series: Guitar Ensemble Pages: 8
Description: This is one of the candidates for the combined portion of the Spring Concert this year. We would be honored to know that it was being played by other groups as well. It is based on several of the riffs my students play as they warm up before class, and features a Bass Riff from a song that I don't even know. As soon as one of my students tells me what it is, I will give it it's proper due however. It is written in first position, with and without shorthand notation (top number is the string, bottom number is the fret) This piece now has an optional electric bass and lead guitar part just in case it's needed. Both parts have shorthand notation since the lead guitar part is in fifth and seventh position.
Product Number: 1012000387 Series: Guitar Ensemble Pages: 1
Description: For years, I thought the name of this song was Musetta. Shows you what I know, huh? Nice little tune with a low learning curve. If you need to learn something fast for a Winter Concert, this'll Do ya!
Description: This is a traditional English Folk song collected by Henry Purcell. The words are lovely, as is the tune and young students seem to be very enthusiastic about learning this song.
Product Number: 1012000519 Series: Lead Sheet Pages: 1
Description: This is a song I wrote for my Grand-daughter's Memorial service. This song helped me to work through my own grief, and hopefully it will help you, or whoever you are singing it for, at least as much.
Description: The melody is by Gustav Holst, noted composer and Trombone Player. Just a nice first to second year guitar solo piece (optional duet) to celebrate the season. If you ever get a chance to sing this, you will really treasure that time.
Product Number: 1012000489 Series: String Orchestra Pages: 6
Description: Mix and march, three part carol by Gustav Holst. Low learning curve, very pretty.
Product Number: 1012000523 Series: Lead Sheet Pages: 1
Description: This is a Southwestern Christmas Carol. I was a little put out the first year that we moved to El Paso, until I realized that the high desert was a lot closer to the climate Jesus wandered around in than the snowy mountain country I was used to. This separates some of the tradition from the fact and can be pretty useful if you pay attention to the words.
